In Belgium are the autumncolors very nice during the month of Octobre, so this is a real interesting challenge for me. During hot summerdays, I like to draw under our beech. Now he is loosing his leaves. I’d like to use the pattern Alabastro that looks so similar. Also Twiggee is a pleasant tangle that I have chosen for this composition. With Pokeleaf and Tipple, I’ ve finished the job on an Apprentice tile. To color, I have used a white gellypen and different colored chalkpencils.

Thanks Susan, I’ve never thought about using Hollibaugh in this way but I ‘ve found this tangle on the Internet and they called it Twiggee, I like this pattern and it gives nice results.

Those real leaves are so beautiful. I just love your composition with Hollibaugh as twigs or limbs with the pretty leaves added! The coloring is quite realistic too!

    Ria,
I liked your tile so much, that I had to try the technique. I don’t have any chalk pencils, but I found that using my Prismacolor colored pencils gave much the same effect. I will definitely do it again. Thanks for the inspiration.

Unfortunately, Prismacolor is not available in Belgium and to purchase them from the States is very expensive but I think they are the best to use for coloring Zentangledrawings. I don’t know the results on black tiles but I can imagine that you will become nice colors. I’m glad I’ve inspired you and thank you for following my blog.

Thank you Anita. Twiggee is so easy to draw and yes it looks fun, especially on a black tile. Yesterday I’ve given a workshop and the students liked this pattern very much. Their results will be on my blogpost tomorrow.

I love your Diva piece Ria! I sat here looking at it and realized that your trellis background using Twiggee reminded be a bit of Hollibaugh and I love the Tipple in the corners! Your leaves are beautifully colored and the chalk pencils really pop on the black background. I keep forgetting that I have some pastel chalk pencils as well. You have just inspired me to give them a try on black tiles. Beautiful tile and I love the inspiration leaves photo to the side. Thank you so much for sharing!
