A pleasant challenge, especially because you can see how you have grown. By joining challenges you can learn a lot: shadowing, coloring,  learning new patterns to form new compositions… The first tile is made when I just started to tangle. I have made this work with a little help of a template. For the second drawing, I have used the same template but I have chosen for different tangles and I have worked  more carefully on shadowing and coloring. Adele suggested this week to start  with Auraknot in a star and that is why I have chosen to use this template again. Besides Auraknot, you can notice a mix of Meer and S-Pod, Indy Rella, Tipple, Sindoo, Beadlines and a lot of stripes. I have worked on white paper and the open spaces of the circle are made black with a brushpen.

Both tiles are lovely. It is interesting to see what has changed in between! Both are balanced but the second one seems to me more calm.

Thank you very much Anita. I find it very pleasant to start with the same string and come out with a totally different result. When I would do this challenge next year with the same template, I’m 100 % sure that the result would be again totally different, that gives me a lot of fun.

The two tiles are just gorgeous, dear Ria! The second one shows your increased experience in drawing and a great certainty in the design and selection of the patterns. The first, however, is no less beautiful. It may seem a little more spontaneous. I love the friendly colors and the beautiful pattern combination. I cannot say, which my favorite is.

Thank you very much for this wonderful compliment. Now and them I like to draw on prestrung tiles or templates. It is a very relaxing way to draw and as you can see also with templates, you can become totally different results. I’m glad you like them both but my fave is the second one.

Beautiful work Ria! Those are both such vibrant compositions, but the contrast of the second one is a real knockout ?

Wauw, Ria!!!
